Module 1: Surfwise Introduction to Using the Internet
Aim: This unit introduces children to the internet, demonstrates how to search the internet safely and effectively, and outlines strategies for assessing the trustworthieness of online information.
The Surfwise Education Module includes a number of activities for teachers to use to promote safe and responsible use of the Internet in their classroom. While this unit includes links to interactive digital resources, it also contains paper based activity sheets that can be used in classrooms that don't have access to either PCs or the Internet.
There are several digital learning resources that accompany this module. All these resources are accessible over the internet or can be downloaded to use offline.

Lesson 2: Validating Internet Content
To Introduce some basic 'surfing' concepts and highlight some of the many positives uses of the Internet.
When your students have finished this lesson they should be able to
- explain that you can't believe everything you see online
- implement strategies to verify the trustworthieness of Internet Content
