These four eSafety lessons and accompanying resources have been created for primary school pupils and their teachers. They are designed to be integrated into the Social, Personal and Health Education Programme. The class will have previously learned how to stay safe in real life, here they will explore how to stay safe on the Internet.

Each lesson is accompanied with easy to print classroom and take-home activities to help familiarise pupils with concepts such as personal safety online, the stranger danger message, respect for others, care with personal information and cyberbullying. The teacher could activate pupils' prior knowledge using the K-L-W technique; each topic will take an hour of class time which could be divided over a two day period.
Teacher Resource Notes on Cyberbullying are included as well as an eSafety Glossary of Internet Terms and a Safer Internet Day Theme Guide.

Lesson 2: Cyberbullying
The class will have previously learned that bullying is always wrong and what to do if being bullied. This lesson aims to help the class understand the concepts of cyberbullying, respect for others, inappropriate online contact and personal safety online.
When your students have finished this lesson they should be able to
- identify cyberbullying
- have practical knowledge of procedures for dealing with text and online bullying

Lesson 3: Real Friends & Online 'friends'

Lesson 4: Detective Webwise
This lesson aims to help the class understand the stranger danger message and key safety concept of never meeting up with an online 'friend'.
When your students have finished this lesson they should be able to
- identify the key eSafety message that online 'friends' should remain online, that a child should never meet up with anyone they have only 'met' online.
- understand that their parents or guardians should know all their friends online.
- explain that one can not be sure that people online are who they say they are.
