Whole-School Activities
• Announcemen over intercom
• Students–open the day with a short message on the theme of staying safe and respectful online.
– Display daily safety tip or infographic on TVs / digital screens.
• Email / Newsletter to Parents & Guardians:
– “Top 10 Tips for Supporting Your Teen Online” (include device safety, social media privacy, positive digital footprint, screen time, and reporting).
– Link to resources such as Webwise.ie
• School Website / Social Media Post:
– Share what Moyne CS is doing for Safer Internet Day with photos, student quotes, and key messages.

Classroom & Workshop Activities
• TY-Led Workshops:
– Transition Year students deliver age-appropriate sessions to 1st–3rd Years on topics like:
o Online privacy and oversharing
o Recognising scams and phishing
o Cyberbullying and digital kindness
o Influencer culture and misinformation
– TYs can use Webwise Connected or HTML Heroes resources.
• Teacher-Led Lessons in wellbeing classes
– Short digital safety quizzes or discussion prompts at lesson start.

Competitions & Interactive Events
• Lunchtime Treasure Hunt:
– QR code clues around the school, each linking to a digital safety fact or question.
– Prizes for correct completion.
• Online Safety Quiz:
– Kahoot / Forms-based quiz for all year groups; leaderboard displayed in the hallway.
• Poster or Digital Design Competition:
– Theme: “What does a safer internet mean to me?”
– Canva or PowerPoint submissions displayed in corridors or on Teams.
