‘Kids as Content’- Digital Safeguarding Toolkit

Webwise, along with our Irish SIC partner ISPCC, were delighted to attend the launch of an important new Digital Safeguarding Toolkit developed by Dr. Francis Rees at the Ombudsman for Children’s Office.

‘Kids as Content’ toolkit is intended to inform best practice approaches to safeguarding children, who appear as part of social media content.

The toolkit uses six fictional child influencers to illustrate different risk scenarios, explaining their content activities, associated risks, and ways to reduce potential harm.

It serves as a practical guide for parents involved in sharenting or family influencer work, highlighting best practices, safeguarding measures, and their rights in brand partnerships. It also offers industry professionals guidance on responsible practices and key action points.
