SMILE

SMILE week is a way of addressing a number of key issues that teens face and giving them information and access to support. It can also build a positive school environment which can be built upon during the year. Building trust and empathy among the student population is important, creating a positive and supportive school environment. It is also a great way to welcome new students into the school and make them feel safe and comfortable. Read how a former Webwise Youth Panelists organised a SMILE week in her school here.

So how does SMILE week work? That is up to you! If you have Transition Year students, it might be a nice project for them to get involved in. Form smaller sub-committees giving each committee a day to plan.
