New Cyber Pal initiative to improve behaviour online
“Be a Cyber Pal!” is a new initiative of the RCSI CyberPsychology Research Centre as part of its participation in Safer Internet Day 2014. Youth empowerment and positive action lie at the centre of the protocol which aims to support the overall messaging of Safer Internet Day 2014. SID2014 aims to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people in Ireland and across the world. Cyber Pal initiative to improve behaviour online based on psychological research
The ‘Cyber Pal’ concept aims to improve behaviour online, and it is based on solid and established cyberpsychological research findings. The initiative has been put together by Mary Aiken and Ciaran McMahon of the RCSI and lays out seven steps for young people. Print off the flier and put it up in your classroom to encourage safe and responsible online behaviour.
